Prototype Reflection

My prototype and pilot testing are coming along well. I decided after last tuesday's class meeting that I would narrow my powerpoint prototype down to only cover two standards. This would be enough to pilot test with 3 parents that have kindergarten students. I decided to use family and friends for this first test. Two of the parents have children who will begin kindergarten in july, and one parent has a child who just finished kindergarten at the end of May. This will give me an idea of how this resource can help new kindergarten parents and gain feedbck from parents who have experience supporting their children through kindergarten.

Prototype

Currently I am still working on my storyboards for my video poduction. This process has taken me longer than I expected because I had never created a storyboard before. I had to do a lot of research before I began creating my own. This was a great learning experience and now I am making good progress. I also found 2 really good books that have great activities for kindergarten students to do at home with their parents. I paln on incorporating some of these activites into my video. I also found out that I am already doing some of the activities in my classroom. I am also going to go back and document these steps so that the design process of my thesis will go smoothly.
